We are delighted to welcome Will Burns

Will Burns was born in London and lives in Buckinghamshire. He is the author of two poetry collections, Country Music and Natural Burial Ground, and one novel, The Paper Lantern, for which he was named as an Observer debut novelist of the year in 2022. He is a long-time contributor to the online nature-writing journal Caught by the River and an editor at Rough Trade Books.

Will will be reciting from his works and chatting to Ella Frears on the Meadow Stage from 2pm and the he will then chat to Ella, while she recites from her works at 3pm.
What was the first record, cd or book that you bought?
I Left My Wallet in El Segundo was the first CD I can remember choosing and buying with my own money.
Where did you buy it from?
Rough Trade in Talbot Rd.

Is there a piece of music / artist you love which you feel not enough people know about?
All of Jay Farrar’s music.
What was the first gig you went to?
Randy Travis at the Albert Hall.
What is the best gig or performance you’ve been to?
Son Volt at the Islington Academy in 2005.
What are you listening to at the moment?
I’ve surprised myself by recently enjoying something that is current – I love the new one by The Tubs.
Are you reading a book at the moment, if so, what?
